Site Selection

Considerable thought was given prior to the purchase of the site. This family compound development is the culmination of 30 years of professional development in Ecologically Sustainable Design ("E.S.D".) by architect Garry Baverstock of Ecotect®* - Architects, Western Australia..

For his client, covering middle aged and older generations, the criteria for site selection included:

To accommodate two modest sized houses with both private and shared common spaces.
Close proximity to trains and buses.
Walking distance to shops and medical facilities.
Secure private access from the rear for house no.2.
An interesting location with a lively atmosphere.
A suburb with a healthy growth of young families.
Ability to provide comfortable lifestyle alternative for the client's 80 year old parents.
